This is the official website of the NSWRA fundraising Save Anzac Range campaign.
The Federal Government of Australia is attempting, once again, to evict us from our home range at Malabar. Our Executive and lawyers are certain that the government has an expressed, contractural duty to either allow us to stay at ANZAC range or provide us with a suitable alternative as set out in our licence with the Commonweath.
The current government would like to ignore their obligations to us, and for many, effectively end our sport in NSW. There are numerous Australian Rifle Team members who use the range, junior and under 25 Australian shooters, Commonwealth medalists, and of course many generations of families for whom the sport is a vital part of their life.
If the government evict us with nowhere to go all this will be lost.
We need to raise A$150,000 for legal fees to stop the government. We have a strong case as this was attempted by a previous government in the 1990′s. They failed then, and we believe they will fail again.
Please donate to the “Buy a Brick” campaign by clicking on the “DONATE” tab above.
This provides an opportunity to help fight our eviction as well as get your name immortalised on the Anzac Range Memorial Gates on a brass plate.
Help Save Anzac Range and be a part of its History forever.
This is a great initiative, congratulations to the NSWRA for taking the intitiative on this.
Too much of the worlds firearms heritage is being lost. Such a denial of our past is to rewrite our history and devalue the legacy we leave our children.
History has shown us that once a range has been closed another one is not likely to be built in it’s place. Therefore it is important for the future of our sport that we do our best to keep the ones we have. Good Luck.
This is part of the Australian shooters heritage and to loose the Anzac range would be a travesty. Lets not forget our future generations who should be given every opportunity to follow the shooting disciplines that have made Australia such a great shooting nation.
Good luck to all involved from the UK
I wish you all luck in retaining this splendid facility where many of us from around the world have enjoyed the fierce competition and wonderful camraderie of the NSW shooting fraternity. It would indeed be a tragedy were it to be taken away from you.
I know that all members of the Scottish Rifle Association will be behind you in this fight, as I am sure will also be the case of the GBNRA
I Made a small donation, but many hands make light work! Come on Aussies! I have never shot there, but i do agree its a personal attack on shooters as a whole, no matter what discipline you shoot! good luck!
Get the RSL and other Ex-Service organsations on board (if you haven’t already done so). Losing this range will be another nail in the coffin for shooting in not just NSW, but Australia as a whole. Good Luck!
Best wishes with the fight to keep your heritage. Strange when you consider the modern, progressive country that Australia is…
Looks a lot like our Racine County Line Rifle Club range on the western shore of Lake Michigan, but with the water on the left… appropriate as you’re “down under” I suppose?
I’ll be buying my brick in a few moments, right after I hit the Post Comment tab. Good luck & good shooting!
Need to visit bank branch today, only way open to set up donation via wire transfer….
SP Clark,
Thank you for your efforts, you are truly a friend of the range.
We will be setting a Paypal account up for donations next week if that would be asker than a trip to the bank!
Cheers
Eric
I logged in today to ask for HELP getting funds transferred. Stopped by my bank yesterday, was informed it would cost me $35 to send $50 down via wire transfer. Guy said if there were a bank up here it’d be easier…. PayPal’d work for me though I know from prior experience they have a fairly stiff anti-firearm leaning. Let me know!!
Hang in there Mr SP Clark, PayPal is on the way! Don’t pay the $35!!
Watch this space, but we should be good to go by the middle of the week.
Thanks for your patience AND your generosity!!
As Chairman of the Irish Rifle Club (Bisley) I fully support your attempt to challenge the Governments attempt to close this well known and historic range. Being in a small way involved at Bisley gives one an insight into the legacy that ranges like this create, from generation to generation. Having had the good fortune to shoot in Australia, I can vouch for the outstanding friendliness of the Clubs and wish you every good fortune in keeping your wonderful facility alive and well.
When will these champagne Marxists ever learn that disliking something is not a valid reason to legislate against it?
Our solidarity to you Down Under from shooters in the UK
It’s up to all Sportsmen around the World to support our brothers in arms as they have supported us around the world in the past, well done to the NSWRA for taking the intitiative on this i-motive subject
These guys are trying their hardest to keep open this important historic and valued range to the shooting community in NSW , keep your peckers up you AUSSIES , I know that members of the UK NRA will support you guys well in you quest for your sport now and in the future and help you get your license renewed with the Commonwealth , and its your obligations to your children and their children’s children and numerous Australian Rifle Teams & their members. Good Shooting & Good Luck !
Cheers
Steve
Living in the UK, where ranges are few & far between , I can appreciate your desire to keep the ANZAC Range open & hope you are successful.
I don’t know what it is with leftist governments but they absolutely hate citizens having possession of firearms & do anything to make it harder to do so.
As soon as you get your PayPal account set up, I’ll send a donation to help.
I support retention of Malabar as a rifle range. Those who know the site know that use as a range is the best use given the topography of the space. It is large accessible and has a great history. Nasty people will try to blur the distinction between target shooting and hunters. Fight distortion of the truth.
Keep Malabar as a target range.
This wonderful sport of ours is under threat yet again. A warm thanks to all our friends around the world in our moment of need. It is much appreciated !!. Yours in good shooting rgs Mark Buchanan
